6 Things to Do in the 6ix (Winter Edition)

Toronto weather has been all over the place lately! One minute it’s a breezy springtime 5° C, and the next we’re back in the deep snowstorm. Has the inclement weather left you looking for something fun to do in the city this winter?

Our team has taken the liberty of picking out our top 6 favourite activities to get you out from under those blankets!

1. Skating

Try out Fort York’s new Bentway Skate Trail located right underneath the Gardiner – a super convenient location for a picturesque date or a weekend outing with friends! Don’t miss out on this winter-only attraction! Click HERE for more info.

2. Toronto Light Festival

Looking to brighten up your winter? Head to the Distillery District anytime between January 19th to March 4th to check out their annual Light Festival. Bundle up and take a beautiful stroll through this year’s collection of light art. Click HERE for details.

3. Sports Game

Are you or your loved ones big fans of Toronto Sports Teams? Toronto teams are on a hot streak these days, so be sure to catch a Leafs or Raptors game this winter! And if you feel like switching it up, why not check out a lacrosse game with Toronto Rock team? Either way you get to be indoors (with a responsibly enjoyed beverage) and caught up in the thrill of joining your city to root for your favourite team.

4. Icebreaker

Head down to the Harbourfront before February 25th and check out the five winning art installations from the Icebreaker competition along Queens Quay West. And if you’re looking for some sustenance afterwards, be sure to check out the Pearl Restaurant in Queens Quay Terminal – we’re a big fan of their authentic dim sum! Check out more information HERE.

5. Ontario Place

Want to take a walk through a winter wonderland? Have an outdoor bonfire or keep warm in the new and improved Cinesphere – head west to Ontario Place for some outdoor magic! (Fun fact – one of our colleagues got engaged there just months ago! Talk about a picture perfect location). More info HERE.

6. Virtual Reality

Looking to stay indoors this winter and pretend you’re actually outdoors? Toronto is loaded with virtual reality gaming centres to scratch that itch. VR makes for a fun (and hilarious) outing with friends – you can’t truly know someone until you’ve seen them flailing their arms wildly and exclaiming at thin air. Check out this BlogTO list with some of our favourite spots HERE.
